Working with a High Quality Manager Mentor
Assignments will be individually
tailored to the requirements
outlined by the recipient manager
or organisation. Manager seeking
support from the programme will
be helped by the programme
managers to create a mentoring
assignment that will meet the needs
identified. Our matching process
will ensure that the High Quality
Manager Mentor assigned to you will have
the relevant skills, experience and
expertise in facilitating that area of
development.
There is no firm prescription for
the mentoring relationships, which
might be:
- Minimal (one or two days)
- Extended (four to six days) spread over a period of three to nine months
- Face-to-face, telephone or email contact or a combination of these
- One-to-one, small group or engaging a High Quality Manager Mentor in working with a manager and their team
- Focused on mentoring, coaching problem-solving, sharing tips or ideas, confidence and esteem building
- Between peers from similar or different organisation types and sector remits.

All applications must be endorsed by the principal, chief executive or other appropriate senior manager of the applicant’s organisation.
Applications are particularly welcome from women or men working in non-traditional areas and from managers of BME background or other under represented groups. You must be currently working in an organisation recieving LSC funding in the learning and skills sector.(including work-based learning, adult and community learning, offender learning, specialist and general FE colleges)
